Rankin DSouza

Rankin DSouza is deeply passionate about using data to create positive change. Early in his career, while working with a nonprofit organization, he realized that while data can be the most challenging hurdle, it is also the most vital asset for driving success. His experience building data systems that supported grant proposals and secured funding for community initiatives solidified his belief in the transformative power of data in advancing important causes.

Before joining NextAfter as a Senior Data Engineer, he worked at Bonsai Data Solutions, where he helped build and improve systems to optimize marketing efforts. His work empowered businesses to harness the full potential of their data, improving performance and maximizing campaign impact. Prior to that, he worked with global political data at a FAANG company, where he developed tools to ensure data quality and provide actionable insights on a large scale.

He holds a Bachelor’s in Computer and Information Science with a specialization in Data Science from the University of Maryland. During his time there, he served as a Teaching Assistant, mentoring students in data science and programming while helping them develop technical skills and a passion for analytics. After graduating, he continues his commitment to giving back by supporting former students with career advice, project guidance, and interview preparation.

Now at NextAfter, he is excited to bring his technical expertise and passion for data to help nonprofits achieve their missions. Based in Columbia, MD, he enjoys fitness, chess, and climbing in his free time.
