How adding a sticky stacked navigation bar with a “Donate Monthly” button affects recurring donations

For this experiment, we added a sticky stacked navigation bar for mobile, but we also added a “Donate Monthly” button to see how that would affect transactions. We had previously tested this with just a donate button, and we had seen that there was an increase in clicks to the donate button when in a stacked navigation bar. This experiment was run for mobile users.
Research Question
We believe that adding a “donate monthly” button on a stacked navigation bar for mobile users will achieve an increase in recurring donations because having a separate button would draw more attention to it, resulting in users clicking on the button and making a donation.

This experiment has a required sample size of 812,348 in order to be valid. Unfortunately, the required sample size was not met and a level of confidence above 95% was not met so the experiment results are not valid.
Key Learnings
The key learnings from this experiment are that adding a "donate monthly" button to a stacked navigation bar for mobile users can potentially increase donations. The treatment group saw a significant increase in donations, indicating that having a separate button for monthly donations could draw more attention and encourage users to donate regularly. However, the statistical level of confidence is below the recommended threshold of 95%, which means that these results should not be considered reliable for future decision-making. We did see an increase in clicks to "donate monthly button". We saw a valid increase in clicks. But ultimately, we saw a decrease in overall transactions, therefore indicating that this had a negative effect on transactions. We saw a 6.3% decrease in transactions. This was not a valid decrease in transactions. For future experimentation, it is essential to run further tests with a larger sample size or different variations to validate the impact of adding a "donate monthly" button. It is also important to consider other factors that may influence donation behavior on mobile devices, such as the placement of the button, messaging, and design. Additionally, conducting usability testing and gathering user feedback can provide valuable insights for optimizing the donation process on mobile platforms.
