Get the Online Fundraising Scorecard and optimize your online giving experience.

The Online Fundraising Scorecard is the first of its kind in the charity world. We analyzed the fundraising habits and donor experiences of 151 national nonprofits, including 100 of the Chronicle of Philanthropy’s Philanthropy 400, and documented the results. The results shine a light on the gap between known best practices around online fundraising and what is actually occurring.

The online fundraising scorecard is a 50-page study full of charts and infographics that reviews the four key areas of an online donation process:

  • Email Registration
  • Email Communication
  • Online Donation Experience
  • Gift Acknowledgement

Instead of asking donors what their online giving experience is like, we “interviewed” 151 nonprofit websites by signing up for email communications and scoring the process. Then, we analyzed the follow-up communications and gave $20 when they asked. We then applied a 46-point checklist to each site while making a donation online. Finally, we scored the thank-you communications and the timing and content of the stewardship process. You can learn what these top nonprofits did well — and what they missed completely.

If you are serious about improving your online fundraising then the online fundraising scorecard is required reading.

The Online Fundraising Scorecard has been downloaded by thousands of fundraisers from the leading universities to the largest charities in the world. The results have been featured in the Chronicle of Philanthropy, Huffington Post, NTEN, NonProfit Hub, About.com, NonProfit Marketing Guide, npEngage, Charity Digital News, Fundraising and Philanthropy Magazine, and featured in hundreds of fundraising blogs.
