How changing Fr. David P. Uribe, OMI to just Fr. David increases open rates for Daily Prayer
The Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate
Experiment Summary
Ended On: 10/31/2019
We’ve previously tested the sender name for other emails and found that using Fr. David increased open rates, but we wanted to see if it would do the same for our Daily Prayer that we send out every morning.
Research Question
Will changing the name from Fr. David P. Uribe, OMI to Fr. David increase open rates?
Results
| Treatment Name | Open Rate | Relative Difference | Confidence | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| C: | Fr. David P. Uribe, OMI | 51.0% | ||
| T1: | Fr. David | 51.5% | 1.1% | 59.3% |
This experiment has a required sample size of 65,482 in order to be valid. Unfortunately, the required sample size was not met and a level of confidence above 95% was not met so the experiment results are not valid.
Key Learnings
We found that using Fr. David did increase open rates, but not as much as our regular email did. We think because these recipients are so used to seeing the subject line Daily Prayer every morning that the sender name might not be as important to them.
