This study was conducted on Facebook for WUNC, a public radio station in North Carolina, to optimize click-through rates and enhance overall conversions for a promotional campaign. The experiment aimed to refine the effectiveness of an advertisement for an eBook about outdoor activities in North Carolina. The experimental design compared the performance of an ad featuring the eBook’s cover image against an alternative ad featuring a person engaged in outdoor recreation.

Research Question

Utilizing targeted imagery increases engagement and downloads by helping Facebook audiences visualize themselves benefiting from the eBook. It fosters a connection that drives action and boosts conversion rates.
